course description

Introduction to techniques for creating computer programs that display some form of intelligent behavior. Topics include: Search-based problem solving, heuristic search methods, logical reasoning, constraint satisfaction, reasoning under uncertainty.

Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach by Russell and Norvig, second edition.

requirements

Homework: Around 5 homeworks will be assigned.
Exams: A midterm and a final.
Project: an application of AI to a non-trivial problem.
Breakdown will be approximately 30% homework, 40% Exams, 30% project.

prerequisites

CS253 and CS301 or permission of instructor.
