Bio: Jed Crandall is an Associate Professor in the University of New Mexico Department of Computer Science. The principle that drives his research is this: it shouldn't be so easy for those who control the Internet to exercise censorship and surveillance without full transparency. Towards this end his research group carries out Internet measurements, reverse engineering of applications, and social media analysis to shed light on censorship and surveillance around the world.
