Dr. Yashwant Malaiya is a professor at the Colorado State University. His research includes quantitative security risk evaluation, testing and test effectiveness, and assessment and management of software, hardware and system reliability. His recent research has focused on quantitative aspects of security vulnerabilities and breaches. His contributions include the Alhazmi-Malaiya Vulnerability Discovery Model, the Test coverage – Defects relationship model and Antirandom Testing. He has served as a General Chair of several international meetings including IEEE International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering, Int. Conference on VLSI Design and International Symposium on Microarchitecture. He is a recipient of the IEEE Third Millennium Medal, IEEE Computer Society Golden Core award and several other IEEE Computer Society Awards.
