PROJECT REVIEW GUIDELINES

Please write short narratives addressing each of the following numbered questions. Overall review length should be about two pages. Reviews will be shared with the principal investigators and will not be anonymous unless you so request.

Note that the Operating Board of the Colorado Advanced Software Institute approved the proposed objective and research strategy by funding the project. The review is to address the results of the research given the stated objective and approach.

Please keep in mind that the staffing of each project included a one-year, half-time graduate research assistant with supervision by a faculty member and the in-kind involvement of a representative of the collaborating company.

  1. What were the most significant accomplishments of the project? Were the proposed objectives achieved?

  2. Was the proposed research strategy followed? If not, how did the strategy differ and were the changes justified?

  3. Did the project result in ideas/papers/software of technical merit to the research community? Did the project result in prototypes useful in industry? How significant are these ideas/papers/software/prototypes? Please elaborate.

  4. Was there evidence of technology transfer according to CASI's definition: university/industry collaboration on projects with research interest for the university and practical value for the collaborating company. Please specify the technology transfer that occurred.

  5. Given the grant duration, and level of faculty/student support, were the accomplishments: (A) outstanding (B) Good (C) Average (D) Below average. Please justify.

  6. General comments.

  7. Please state your personal and professional relationship with the Principal Investigator of this project.

  8. The amount of time you spent in fulfilling the review task in hours.
