The Computer Science Department is taking Colorado State University to new levels of impact and excellence!
Computer Science Department- Ranked among the top 60 programs in the nation.
- Computer Science faculty awards include: three Undergraduate Teaching Awards, the CSU Best Teacher Award, the Excellence in Undergraduate Education Award, the Excellence in Student Mentoring Award, two Outstanding Mentor in Computer Science Awards, the Outstanding Teacher in Computer Science Award, and the Early Career Teaching Award.
- Integrally linked to the future excellence of Colorado State University and to the Colorado economy.
- The new Computer Science building allows us to continue to excel, as the field explodes in importance and becomes ever more laboratory-intensive.
- 45,000 square feet of space and 4 stories high.
- Increased visibility - located at the crossroads of the CSU plaza across from the Lory Student Center and Morgan Library.
- It will be an engine for Computer Science and Information Technology research, and will, most importantly, be the focal point for generations of students learning computer science principles and practice on our campus.
- Three main labs on the ground floor. One lab is available to all 24/7.
- Lab1. A Student Personal Computer Lab which will function as a dual use lab that will be open 24 hours a day. During most of the day it will be utilized to teach freshman computing classes. At all other times the lab will be open to all students on campus to use as a general computing lab.
- Lab 2. A Linux Lab which will provide machines running the Linux operating system and be largely used by Computer Science majors.
- Lab 3. A Teaching Lab which will provide a combination teaching and environment lab where students will be able to do interactive hands-on programming during classes. This space will also be available as an open lab for students taking Computer Science classes in the evenings.
- Groundbreaking will take place fall 2007, occupancy in fall 2008.
- Design by Anderson Mason Dale.
- The cost of the new building, furnishings, and equipment is approximately $14 million.
- $12.9 million was raised through student service fees.
- The Campaign for the Computer Science Building continues -- endowments, equipment, and furnishings are much needed.

You Can Make A Difference!
- Annual fund contributions include scholarships, fellowships, and professorships. The new building will allow us to grow the faculty. So there is a need not only for bricks and mortar, but also funds to recruit new faculty and students.
