| 5/1/2003 | Version 5.0 of our Face Identification Evaluation System has been released. This release contains all four algorithms originally planned for: Standard PCA, PCA+LDA, the MIT Bayesian Intrapersonal/Extrapersoanl Image Diffference Classifier and new with this release, the USC Elastic Bunch Graph Matching Algorithm. This is a major release and we recommend users adopt it. |
| 10/31/2002 | Version 4.0 of our Face Identification Evaluation System has been released. This release contains not only our PCA and PCA+LDA algorithms, but also a version of the MIT Bayesian Intrapersonal/Extrapersoanl Image Diffference Classifier. We recommend users upgrade to this release For the PCA and PCA+LDA algorithms, recognition rate performance of the new codes has not changed relative to prior releases. For the Bayesian algorithm, all new code is included in version 4.0 and this is the release to achieve good results with this algorithm. This release also includes image pre-processing code and analysis code. Thus, it may be used in conjunction with the raw FERET image (obtained from NIST) to reproduce a significant portion of the original FERET evaluation. This release also includes a Users Guide. |
| 5/31/2002 | Version 3.0 of our PCA and PCA+LDA codes has been released. These codes are a completely new implementation. The new code is substantially cleaner and better structured than the previous release. Both PCA and PCA+LDA algorithms are implemented in a common set of codes. We have verified that recognition results on the standard FERET probe sets are the same as for our previous codes. Thus, adopting the new code should not change benchmark performance. However, we trust users will find this code much easier to understand and use. Also, this new release comes with new analysis tools. See the algorithms link for more information and to obtain the code. |
| 2/20/2002 | Code to generate sample probability density functions for recognition rate subject to exchanging probe and gallery images has been released. See our tools page for more information. |
| 12/17/2001 | A short report has been added to papers, Fall 2001 Update to CSU PCA Versus PCA+LDA Comparison. This report updates performance numbers for the PCA+LDA algorithm achieved after the code was refined - see next note. |
| 12/14/2001 | Updated versions of the PCA and LDA algorithms have been posted. Both now use double floating point precision throughout their training and test phases, and for the LDA algorithm this is significant. Please upgrade if you have older versions of the LDA code. |
