Logo Contest General Information Paper/Poster Submission

The Computer Science Research Symposium is a student-run event that presents the research activities of the Colorado State University Computer Science Department. Computer Science Department graduate students prepare posters describing their work and will be on-hand to answer questions about their posters and research activities. The posters will describe graduate course projects, M.S. thesis topics, Ph.D. dissertation, and funded research projects.

This event is open to the public and is a great way to learn about computer science research. Students, faculty, and staff from all departments are encouraged to attend and learn about the research activities in computer science. Undergraduate students considering graduate study in computer science are especially encouraged to attend and learn about graduate level research.

The Computer Science Research Symposium will be held on Monday, March 5, 2007 at the Colorado State University Campus in Fort Collins, Colorado. The symposium will provide an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students engaged in research in the areas of algorithms, artificial intelligence, computer vision, software engineering, security, embedded systems, and networking to present their work in poster form. The symposium will showcase original research through a peer reviewed process of poster evaluation and presentation. The opportunity to share innovative research ideas with an interdisciplinary audience is also provided by the symposium. This is a chance for computer science students and faculty to update their knowledge in areas where they have not completed research. There will be opportunities to participate and learn from educational speakers.

In addition, this year the Computer Science Research Symposium is holding a logo contest to involve the student population in this event and provide a logo to be used on symposium related materials.

More information about the symposium will be posted here soon. Please contact csrs@cs.colostate.edu if you have any questions.

Awards will be given for the top posters including:
* Best Poster by a Doctoral Student
* Runner-up Best Poster by a Doctoral Student
* Best Poster by a Masters Student
* Runner-up Best Poster by a Masters Student

Students attending the symposium may also vote for:
* Student Choice for Best Poster

Award winners will receive certificates, prizes, have a chance to speak at the symposium, and have their posters displayed at the department.
