The Computer Science Research Symposium organizational committee is holding a logo contest open to any Colorado State University student. The committee is looking for a logo and slogan that will be used on flyers, a website, and other symposium related material. To encourage student involvement in the competition, the committee will provide winning and runner-up prizes to be determined. It is the committee's hope that this event will spark interest in the Computer Science Research Symposium and in the Computer Science Department at Colorado State Univerity. The field of entrants will be narrowed to six by the organizational committee. The winner will be announced during the first week of October and all six finalists entries will be displayed at the symposium. All Colorado State University students are encouraged to participate in the Computer Science Research Symposium Logo Contest.

General rules:
* All submitted work must be original and not based on any pre-exisiting design.
* If your entry produces trademark problems due to potential similarities to existing trademarks it will not be considered.
* By entering a logo design you agree to transfer the copyright on the design to the Colorado State University Computer Science department should your design win.
* Individual students can enter as many designs in the contest as they want.
* The deadline for submission is Friday, September 29, 2006
* Submissions should be emailed to csrs@cs.colostate.edu with the subject line "CSRS-CSU Logo Contest" or submitted using the online form.
* The organizational committee reserves the right to extend all dates specified herein until sufficient submissions have been made such that a winning logo is likely to be chosen; however, a winning entry may not necessarily be chosen from the submissions received.
* Similar or identical logo entries will be credited to the designer of the first such entry received.
* All questions regarding this contest should be sent via e-mail to csrs@cs.colostate.edu. Alternatively, images can be submitted using this online form.

The logo:
* Logo format: GIF
* Logo size: Maximum height, 128 pixels. Maximum width, 128 pixels.
* Logo should use a maximum of 5 colors.

The slogan:
* Entries must contain a slogan.
* The slogan is not included in the logo size.
* The slogan will be a maximum of 5 words.
* The slogan must convey the spirit of the Computer Science Research Symposium.
* The slogan must look good as a tag line.
