The vi Tutor

This page explains how to invoke a vi tutor to begin learning the vi editor.

1. First, make sure you are in a directory that you have permission to write to, then invoke the command that starts the vi tutor.
   
   > cd
> ~info/vitutor/run

   
2. This command copies a file named tutor.vi to your current directory and automatically opens it using the vi editor.
   
   
3. From here you can follow the directions that appear on your screen.
