Lab Assignment 9: Group Projects

The purpose of this assignment is to

• have you work in assigned groups
• put together a group Web page

We have added the web pages for all participants

  to the Student Pages page

Nevertheless, you can continue to improve your page

  as long as your group project page comes first in priority

Instructions

• Printing out this page:
  1. Remember to print out this Web page using lp -d flute

• Looking at yet another Web site:
  1. Try http://www.girlgeeks.com

• Continue working on your Project
  1. Take a little time during the first part of the morning
       to discuss how you want to layout the pages for your project
     This can be roughly drawn on a scrap piece of paper

  2. Also decide in whose directory the project pages will go
       and what the name of each file should be

  3. Try to split the work fairly evenly between members of your group

     Remember! Only one person at a time can edit a given file
       Otherwise, some of your work may be lost

• Project Presentations
  1. When you present your project Web page,
       we will bring it up in a browser
         on the machine that can be viewed
           from the projector on the ceiling of the HP Lab

  2. Each member of the group should be assigned to talk
       about a part of the project
     She should say which part(s) of the project
       were her responsibility
         and how she was able to do what she did
     She should also say what part(s) she had problems with
                 if any
         and how she solved her problems
                 if she did so

  3. Students may ask questions of the presenters
