Thanks for your interest in ACM activities in the past. This year we are looking forward to an even more active and exciting ACM club for all of you that like to get involved!
ACM is a great group to be involved with on campus and a great organization to be affiliated with when you are looking for a job and networking with companies that you are interested in. Employers love to work with ACM members to organize exciting events and opportunities. Becoming a member of the exclusive ACM club at Colorado State University is easy and the benefits are more than rewarding to your future fun and career.
There are three levels of membership:
Voting, Chapter, and Visitor
Voting Member:
This class of member must be a fee paying student at CSU, and must pay National dues in addition to the Chapter dues. But includes 395 online IT books and over 450 online IT courses. In addition, Voting Members receive subscriptions to MemberNet and TechNews plus full access to the Guide to Computing Literature, the ACM Career Resource Centre, and more. Voting Members can vote and hold office positions.
Chapter Member:
A chapter dues paying member that does not have to be a student at CSU, merely a member of the CSU community. Furthermore, you do not have to be a member of the National ACM to be an chapter member. This class of member can attend all events but does not have access to the above resources.
Visitor:
Want to come see what ACM @ CSU is about, but don't want to fork over any money? Any member of the CSU community can be a visitor to ACM @ CSU and attend certain events. Voting and Chapter Members do get priority over sign up for certain events.
The membership fee for the local chapter is $15.00. In the national chapter, student packages range from $19 to $42.
You may ask what else does being a member get me? Well...
There's
Community:
This is the only non-exclusive club for CS majors/minors/interested people.
Interaction:
Meet the faculty and get to know what we research here at CSU. Also, get advice from other undergraduate and graduate students.
A Network in Industry:
We bring in big names of the Tech Industry to give seminars and presentations. This is a perfect time to get your resume out and maybe even land an internship or job!
Information Sessions:
We occasionally discuss various topics concerning academics, research, people, and careers.
