Membership

Students can become members of our local student chapter for $15 and members of the international ACM beginning at $19. Membership within our student chapter allows participation in our various competitions and provides funding for pizza and soda during meetings. We invite members of industry, the university, and even students to present tools, research, services, or other presentation at ACM.

ACM is a great group to be involved with on campus and a great organization to be affiliated with when you are looking for employment and networking with companies that you are interested in. Employers love to work with ACM members to organize exciting events and opportunities. Benefits are:

Community: Intended for computer science and related majors/minors/interested people, ACM provides an environment to interact with others in the field.

Interaction: Meet the faculty and get to know what we research here at CSU. Also, get advice from other undergraduate and graduate students.

Network with Industry: Big names of the technology industry give seminars and presentations. This is a perfect time to get your resume out and maybe even land an internship or job!

Information Sessions: Various topics concerning academics, research, careers, and tools are covered during our weekly meetings.

Dues

Because ACM is a student organization, there are several restrictions on what dues can be applied to. In summary:

Food at meetings:

• Dues are only used for food, with the exclusion of tips.

Lecturers are not compensated for:

• Time spent on campus
• Food
• Lodgings

Fundraising:

• Cannot have prizes of any sort.
• Must include sales tax collection on tangible goods.
• These new funds will have the same restrictions in use as dues do.
