Turf Cutting Festival -- June 10 we went to a turf cutting festival being held nearby. We didn't find the festival for awhile since we took a wrong turn. What we did find was a nearby field of peat logs drying. Huge machines cut the peat and form it into logs. It is estimated that in 50 years all the peat (and the bogs) will be gone. Peat is the main energy source for electricity generation plants in Ireland.
