Academic Background

I'm a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science, Colorado State University. I am planning to graduate with master of science degree in the end of year 2007.

Before coming to CSU, I worked in Beijing Telecom Planning & Designing Institute in China as a network consultant / telecom engineer. I got my Bachelor's degree in Electromechanical Engineering in Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications.

Research Interest

My research interests are generally in networking. Specially, I am interested in related issues about Internet routing.

I am working with Dr. Daniel Massey in the Network Security Group on the following main projects.

Prefix Hijack Alert System (PHAS)
PHAS provides near real time information about possible prefix hijacks to prefix owners. It was presented at The 38th North American Network Operators' Group meeting (NANOG 38). I have designed the system architecture and developed the main modules and the web interface. This system is developed in Perl and C++.

BGP Monitoring System (BGPMon)
BGPMonitor is a light weight system to accurately record routing data from Internet routers and provide real-time data access to the research community as well as the network operations community. I did the modules to process BGP update messages, store RIB (Routing Information Base) tables as well as send data including updates and RIB to users. This system is developed in C. And it was presented in NANOG 40.

I was a teaching assistant for CS457: Networking and the Internet in Fall 06.
