Class Activities / Makeup policies

All activities in this classs will be done individually. Overall, we expect that this course will require 10-12 hours per week.
Lab Assignments
- Each lab assignment consists of a training assignment, a pre-test, and a post-test taken using the MyITLab software.
- These lab assignments cover specific functionality with one of the Microsoft Office tools.
- Trainings may be taken as many times as you want, only the highest score will count.
- Pre-tests and post-tests may be only be taken once each.
- Pre-tests and post-tests are closed book.
- No late Lab Assignments will be accepted.
- Students with excused absences will be allowed to make up a lab assignment.
- When making up a lab assignment, students will make up the ENTIRE lab assignment - including the trainings.
In-class Quizzes
- Every lecture will have in in-class quiz given over the discussion material.
- These quizzes are given using the IClickers
- No late/makeup quizzes will be offered.
- Students with excused absences will have that grade exempted.
Lesson Quizzes
- Each lesson contains a lesson quiz over the material presented in the video lectures and homework for that lesson. This material prepares you for the classroom discussions that occur.
- Lesson quizzes are open book and taken on-line using the RamCT assessment tool.
- Lesson quizzes may be taken as many times as you want, only the highest score will count.
- Lesson quizzes are due by 10pm on the Sunday of the week they are assigned.
- No late / make-up quizzes will be offered.
Class Projects
- There are 5 class projects that will be assigned throughout the semester.
- Descriptions for each class project are delivered as a part of the lesson.
- Each project will have a 48-hour late period.
- Projects that are turned in during the late period will be assessed a penalty of 20% of the total score.
- No projects will be accepted after the late period.
- Since projects are open for over a week, no make-up assignments will be offered.
Lesson Exams
- Lesson exams are given during midterm and finals week.
- Lesson exams MUST be taken in the CS110 lab.
- Lesson exams will be given using the RamCT on-line assessment tool.
- Lesson exams are closed book and may only be taken once.
- No late Lesson Exams will be offered.
- Students with excused absences will be allowed to make up lesson exams.
Lab Exams
- Lab exams will be given using the MyITLab simulator.
- Lab Exams will be given during weeks 9 and 15.
- Lab Exams are closed book and may only be taken once.
- No late Lab exams will be offered.
- Students with excused absences will be allowed to make up lab exams.
Extra credit
- Extra credit may be offered in this course, if so it will be offered to everyone equally.
