Grading Policy
Weighting of Points
The course requires demonstration of a student’s grasp of the concepts as follows:

Expectations / Makeup policies

All activities in this classs will be done individually.
Overall, we expect that this course will require
2-3 hours outside class for every hour in lab/class.

Lab Assignments
-
Lab Assignments will be done using the MyITLab software.

The Lab Assignment trainings may be done either in the lab or at home.
-
The Lab Assignment pre-test and post-test must be taken in the
CS110 lab during assigned lab hours.

Lab assignments may be made up without penalty within 1 week for any
excused absence.
-
There will be three Lab Make-up days during the semester.

Check the schedule tab for the exact days.

On each of these days a student may make up 1 Lab Assignment.

Lab Assignments made up on these days are subject to a 50% late penalty.

Lecture Quizzes
-
Lecture quizzes will be given using the RamCT on-line assessment tool.

Lecture quizzes are closed book.

Lecture quizzes must be taken in the CS110 lab on their offered dates.

Lecture quizzes may be taken anytime (8-6) on their offered dates.

Lecture Quizzes may be made up without penalty within 1 week for any
excused absence.

No other late / make-up quizzes will be offered.

IClicker Quizzes

IClicker quizzes will be given in class using the IClickers.

IClicker Quizzes may be made up within 1 week for any excused absence.

No other late / make-up quizzes will be offered.
- To cover unforeseen circumstances, the worst IClicker Quiz score will
be dropped.

Lecture Exams

Lecture exams will be given using the RamCT on-line assessment tool

Lecture exams are closed book. This also means that if any other windows
are open on the computer screen, it will be considered cheating.

Lecture exams must be taken in CSB 110 on their offered dates.

Homework / Reading Exams

Exams over the textbook and reading material will be given using the
RamCT on-line assessment tool.

Lab Exams

Lab exams will be given using the MyITLab
simulator.

Lab Exams will be taken during lab hours in weeks 8 and 15.

Class Projects
-
Class Projects will be given using the regular Office 2010 for PC tools
submitted to the grader projects within MyITLab.

Class Projects may be made up within 1 week without penalty for any
excused absence.

There will be a 1 week late period offered for each project.
-
Projects that are checked in during the late period are subject to a
50% late penalty.
Extra credit
Extra credit may be offered in this course, if
so it will be offered to everyone equally.
Grading Process
The software grades almost everything. If you
have an issue with your grading, talk with the TA first, then to
your instructor if you still disagree. Please do not post a
message on the discussion board about your grade.
Assignments, quizzes, projects, lab tests, the lecture
exam, and the final exam will not be curved.
Assignment of Final Grades
Calculation of final grade is shown in table below.
The final point score will not be curved nor will it be rounded up.
