Textbook

This class requires the purchase of a license to use the MyITlab simulator software that we use in the recitations (labs). This license can be purchased as a standalone item from the publisher, or can be purchased as part of the ebook package that is available from both the bookstore or the publisher.

The official textbook of the class is the ebook/license package.

In the interest of fairness however, we want you to be aware of the reality of needing the ebook portion of the package. In the Spring of 2012, we ran a survey of the students in the CS110 class asking them after 10 weeks of class, which package they would buy now, given their experiences. The table below records those answers.

Hard copy

In the fall of 2011, we also offered a hardcopy version of the textbook. In our survey, only 19 students indicated they would purchase this option, so we eliminated it from our set of options. Students from that class, however still have those copies and if you are one who would like a hardcopy, you should get in touch with one of those students to purchase one. You will still have to purchase a license to the software however.
