Assignment: Career Fair

Instructions:

Attend one of the days of the CSU Fall Career Fair or the Fall Engineering Career Fair.

• CSU Fall Career Fair, Tuesday September 17th from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Moby Intramural Gym
• CSU Fall Career Fair, Wednesday September 18th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, Moby Intramural Gym
• CSU Fall Engineering Career Fair, Thursday September 19th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Hilton Hotel

Prior to attending the Career Fair,

• Review information on the career fair.
• Write a short list of questions based on samples from the Quintessential Careers web site,and follow the "200 suggested informational interview questions" link.

Your assignment is to talk to representatives from at least two different companies and write a short paper (paragraphs and/or bullets) with the following information:

• The name of the company
• The name of the person to whom you spoke
• The written questions you brought to ask company representatives with the answers. The questions should allow you to learn at least three things about the company. Sample questions include:
  • What kinds of products does your company (or your part of your company) produce?
  • Does your company hire programmers? Is so, what kinds of things do they do?
  • Do you hire interns?
  • What kinds of things do you have interns work on?
  • What kinds of experience are you looking for in potential interns?
  • What do you most like about your company (or about your job)?
