Assignment: Resources

Instructions:

CSU offers a multitude of resource offices and clubs that provide services and sponsor activities that are very valuable to students ... many of which you pay for with your student fees! Rather than have each of you visit and give presentations about all of these resources, we are asking each student to research one of them and present the information to their class and classmates.

For this assignment, you are to learn about one of these offices or clubs (the particular offices or clubs will be assigned to you in class). Some of the resources are not available all day or every day. Depending on which resource you are assigned, you will need to plan ahead! If you are assigned a club that does not meet before this assignment is due, you must send email to your instructor two days before the assignment is due, telling her when the club does meet. Your instructor will work with you to schedule an alternate due date.

PAY CAREFUL attention to what you have signed up to do. Some resources have notes with what we want you to cover.

If you want to do a presentation, please either link it to your website (set permissions!) or bring a flash drive.

Your job is to prepare a short, fun, compelling, informative, and memorable presentation of between one and one and a half minutes, and to present it during class, describing the services and/or activities offered by your assigned resource. Some of the information you might include in your report:

There are several ways to learn about the resource: CSU catalog, CSU website (use the A-Z directory, or use Search (Google)) If at all possible, it is wise to visit the office or attend a meeting of the club, instead of just visiting the website. In the past, students who have actually visited the resource do a better job with their presentations than students who do not.

To complete this assignment, submit via ramct the resource you gave your presentation on and the date of your presentation.

GRADING: You will be graded by your instructor on how good a presentation you do for your assigned resource. You will lose points if you are not prepared to present when called on unless you have re-scheduled the presentation time because of limited club meeting times.
