Late and Regrade Policies
Over the course of this semester, there are a number of assignments. These should be completed and turned in by the due date given on the assignment writeup. Since an assignment must be submitted electronically, it is due by 23:59:59 of the due date (as certified by the time stamp of the submission).
Regrades
After an assignment is graded and returned, you may correct or redo any part of the assignment and resubmit the assignment for a regrade once within one week of the date when it was handed back. (Your original, graded version does not need to be submitted as part of the regrade, as this is already available to us in RamCT.) ONLY submit the revised answers to the submission link labeled as the Regrade link. Work submitted electronically is credited as of the timestamp on the submitted file(s).You may not submit solutions to problems you did not attempt in the original submission.
Thus, it is possible to obtain a perfect score on the assignments. The purpose of an assignment is to introduce you to a new method, theory, or concept. Allowing you to redo your assignment gives you an opportunity to better understand the concept and to correct possible errors in your thinking.
The last date for submitting assignments for regrading is the last week of classes for the semester -- but this date would only apply to assignments graded in the last few weeks of the semester, as all regrades must be submitted within ONE week of the original grading of any assignment. All assignments due during the last week of classes are not eligible for regrading (because of time constraints).
Late Assignments
Late assignments must be turned in within one week of their original due dates. However, any assignment that is turned in late is considered a regrade -- even though it is submitted through the original assignment submission link. Problems from a late assignment cannot be resubmitted for a regrade. (In other words, once the original assignment submission link closes -- one week after the original due date -- it is too late to submit a late assignment.)
Comments
The originally submitted assignment must be a serious attempt at completing said assignment. For instance, a partial answer to one question for a assignment consisting of ten questions is not considered to be a serious attempt at completing that assignment. A program that prints out "Hello World" is not considered to be a serious attempt for writing a program to do more complex operations. Regrades only apply to parts of a homework assignment that were attempted in the original submission. This policy does not refer to examinations, discussion assignments, online quizzes, term papers, or term projects.
