Late & Regrade Policies
Over the course of this semester, there are a number of assignments. These should be completed and turned in by the due date given on the assignment writeup. All the assignments should be submitted electronically; they are due by 23:59:59 (Mountain Time) of the due date (according to the time stamp of the file or message).
Regrades
After an assignment is graded and returned, you may correct or redo any part of the assignment and resubmit the assignment for a regrade once within one week of the date when it was handed back. Please submit ONLY the corrected problems for the assignment. We'll already have your original submission, along with the grading comments, to compare to the regrade. Work submitted electronically is credited as of the timestamp on the submitted file(s).Thus, it is possible to obtain a perfect score on the assignments. The purpose of an assignment is to introduce you to a new method, theory, or concept. Allowing you to redo your assignment gives you an opportunity to better understand the concept and to correct possible errors in your thinking.
The last date for submitting assignments for regrading is the last week of classes for the semester. Any assignments due during the last week of classes are not eligible for regrading (because of time constraints).
Late Assignments
Late assignments must be turned in within one week of their original due dates. However, any assignment that is turned in late is considered a regrade. A late assignment cannot be resubmitted for a regrade. Furthermore, a late, original assignment cannot be submitted as a regrade.
Comments
The originally submitted assignment must be a serious attempt at completing said assignment. For instance, a partial answer to one question for an assignment consisting of ten questions is not considered to be a serious attempt at completing that assignment. A program that prints out "Hello World" is not considered to be a serious attempt for writing a program to do database operations.Only answers to questions that were answered in the original submission may be refined and resubmitted for a regrade. If a question was not attempted in the original submission, it is not eligible to be answered as part of the regrade.
This policy does not refer to examinations, discussion assignments, online quizzes, term papers, or term projects.
