Bio

Starting in his early teens Joseph was interested in computers and programming. Looking for a way to build his own video game, he loaned a 3D Game Programming book from the library. Based on GarageGames' Torque Game Engine this book was his first immersion into programming. Learning object oriented languages, Torque Script and then Game Engine source code in C++. From there his interest increased leading him to try and learn everything he could about programming and computers in general.

Learning concepts of software development, web development, and the languages associated with them he started working on his own projects. Working with childhood friend Tyler he designed and developed websites for clients and worked on projects including Mozilla Lab's 2009 Design Challenge. Using the Torque Game Engine as a hobby he enjoyed working on video game development for fun.

After high school Joseph was hired as a line cook and quickly moved to the position of Executive Sous Chef. Still working on computers as a hobby he was used as unofficial IT support in the kitchen. To streamline training and effort when it came to labeling buffet line dishes he developed and produced a C# GUI program to do all the generating and printing of labels. With the urging of his wife he enrolled in CSU as an adult freshman to gain formal education in Computer Science

Joseph currently lives in Estes Park, CO with his wife Sheila and 2 year old son Joseph M. He travels to Fort Collins to attend Colorado State University full time seeking a BS degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics.
