Making Computers Friendly --

        A Seminar in Computing for High School Women (Session 2)


If you are a woman entering grades 9-12 next fall and are interested in helping to shape the world in which you will be living, this seminar is for you!

Computers are everywhere. Almost every career requires you to work with computers in some way. No matter what field interests you, learning more about computers will help you be more successful and will help you develop useful life skills.

What: Computer information presented in a fun and i n t e r e s t i n g way.
In this seminar you will:
    * brainstorm ideas and dreams for computing
    * write program(s) new to you (no matter what your present level of programming skill!)
    * learn about the latest in artificial intelligence and computer visioning
    * brainstorm ideas for how to influence the future

For Whom: High school women entering grades 9-12 in the fall.

Where: CSU Computer Science Department, 601 South Howes, Fort Collins

When: July 19-23 from noon to 5:00 (an afternoon snack will be provided). If attendees want more computer time, the lab will be open in the mornings from 9-12.
But Note: if there is enough interest, other sessions may be offered! Write to me or leave a message if you might be interested at a different time.

Class space is limited. The course is free, but we are asking for a deposit of $20 to hold a spot. This deposit will be refunded to attendees.
