Dr. Schauble received an Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Mount Holyoke College in 1966, with a minor in Music; a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida in 1978; a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1988; and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1994.
She hails from western Massachusetts and has worked in numerous and sundry positions in the field of computer science, including insurance data processing, scientific programming, operating systems, and computer performance. Among her past employers are Aetna Life Insurance Company, Springfield-Monarch Insurance Company, Long Island University in Brooklyn, the Institute of Computer Science of the University of London, and IBM. She has worked in Springfield (MA), Hartford (CT), London (UK), New York (NY), Gainesville (FL), Eglin AFB (FL), Poughkeepsie (NY), and Boulder (CO), in addition to Fort Collins (CO). She previously taught computer science courses at the New School for Social Research (New York), the University of Florida (Gainesville and Eglin AFB campuses), the University of Colorado (Boulder and Denver campuses), and the Colorado School of Mines (Golden).
Her research interests are varied, from the development of Web-based educational tools and introductory computer science courses to computer architecture, operating systems, and networking. She is a longtime member of ACM and a life senior member of IEEE.
She is married to John J. Schauble (retired) with four grown children and seven grandchildren.
