Help Sessions

This course makes use of help sessions. They are times setup to meet in smaller groups with TAs, similiar to a recitation in most courses.

Additionally, your help session provides you with another core group of students to collaberate with and work through the course content.

Help sessions signup times are in canvas, and you should stick with the same help sesssion all semester. If you are out sick you may drop into the online help session, but that should not be your default time unless you signed up for the online time slot.

Attendance will be taken at help sessions, and attending (and participating) will go towards your activity grade for the semester. Attending them is also the only way to earn extra credit for the semester.

What are some common things you will talk about at help sessions?

  • More detailed discussion of lecture content.
  • Current lab assignments, including group coding activities.
  • Going over knowledge checks, and other course content questions.
  • Additional resources and topics related to computer science (git hub, security, markup languages like html or markdown, etc).
  • Anything you bring up related to course work - bring questions!
