This paper describes the general outline for a numerical analysis course using interactive learning techniques. To complete the preparation for this course the following questions must be answered.

- Can we discuss all of the numerical analysis topics suggested in the ACM/IEEE curriculum using ODE and PDE touchstone problems? What topics will be left out?
- Select a textbook.
- Do an example tutorial and generate a list of possible tutorial problems.
- Generate lab assignments.
